Gennell Runnels Parson passed away on January 22, 2025 in her home in Jacksonville, TX. She was born February 14, 1952, to Robert and Geneva Runnels in Jacksonville, TX.
She was a lifetime resident of the area. Gennell devoted her life to those in the community through her work in healthcare and faithfulness to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Gennell is survived by her husband
Fredrick Parson, married on October 25, 2008; her three sons, Paul (Jessica) Runnels of Wichita, KS, Dr. Xavier (Sue Ann) Whitaker of Villa Rica, GA, and Rasheede (Tracey Ejianya) Whitaker of Pueblo, CO; 22 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Pamela (Curtis) Reed of Tyler, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.Gennell is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Geneva Runnels, brother Edward Lee Runnels Sr., and sisters Gerlene Ward, and Pauline Monmouth.
