Henry Lewis Arterberry Jr, born on September 12, 1957, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Henry and Lucille Arterberry Sr. Henry passed away on January 26, 2025, at Hospice of East Texas.
Henry was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army, embodying the values of service and commitment. After being honorably discharged from the service, Henry worked to provide for his family. He was also known for his passion for music, playing the drums in a local band and around the house, which brought him joy and connection throughout his life. A devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers, he enjoyed cheering on his favorite team during their season.
A dedicated family man, Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Georgia Arterberry of Troup, TX. Children, Rockiea Harley of Charlotte, NC, Jausinra Arterberry of Upper Darby Township, PA, Hyjuewa Chapman of Philadelphia, PA, and Rasheen Arterberry of Los Angeles, CA. Also left to cherish his memories are his bonus daughters, Regina Golden of Jacksonville, TX, and Chiquita Talbot of San Antonio, TX and 6 grandchildren.
In addition to his immediate family, Henry is survived by his sister, Janice Anderson of Houston, TX and a uncle, Robert Aterberry of Dallas, Tx. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, love for music, and the immense joy he brought to those around him.
Henry is preceded in death by both parents, and sister Helen Arterberry.
