Joann Baumgradner, 89, passed away on September 12, 2024, in Liberty, Tx. She was born on January 19, 1935, to her parents, Buddy and Dorothy Hammonds.
After receiving her education in Humble ISD, she was united in holy matrimony to Royce Wayne Baumgardner on August 29, 1958. To this union three children were born. Janice Baumgardner, Royce DeWayne Baumgardner, and Mark Stephen Baumgardner.
Joann was the owner of “The Bookstore”in Dayton and Liberty, Texas until she retired. Joann was an avid reader, and loved reading books and sharing her love of books with others. Her favorite authors were Mary Higgins Clark and J.A. Jance.
In her spare time along with reading, she loved thrift shopping at garage sales and resale shops. Joann was known for having a love for cats as well.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Royce Wayne Baumgardner, two siblings, Jerry Hammonds and Teri Hammonds.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Janiece Baumgardner of Liberty, sons Royce DeWayne of Liberty, Mark Stephen wife Debbie of Alvin, and sister Dolores Hammonds. She is also survived by three grandchildren, and other friends and family members.
A private memorial for Joann Baumgardner, is scheduled for Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 1:00 in Jacksonville at Providence Cemetery.
