Affectionately known as L.W., Lewis Wagoner was born on July 4, 1949, in New Summerfield, Texas to the late Lewis and Vera Wagoner. He passed away on January 3, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, where he had made his home in recent years.
A devout Christian, L.W. accepted Christ at an early age and remained a committed member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, New Summerfield. L.W. received his education in the New Summerfield community school.
L.W. had a passion for music that resonated throughout his life, and he cherished the time spent with his family. He dedicated many years to his career at Astro Air until health challenges necessitated his retirement.
Left to cherish his memories are sons, Kenny Wagoner and Terry Wagoner, both of Tyler, Tx, daughter LaDeanne Cawthon, New Summerfiled, Tx sisters, Clara Thompson and Betty Walker, both of Jacksonville, Tx, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Preceding him in death are both parents, and daughter Andrea LaTrell Wagoner.
L.W. is remembered not only for his warm spirit and infectious smile but also for the deep love he had for his family and his unwavering faith. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
