Miriam Kay Henderson, 66, passed away on November 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with lymphoma.
Miriam was born on September 21, 1958, in Palestine, TX, to Larkay Henderson and Shirley Coleman (Melvin Coleman, Sr.). She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1977 and worked faithfully at Astro Air until its closure in 2008. She then joined Legacy of Jacksonville, where she worked until her cancer diagnosis in 2023.
A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Miriam first attended Border Street Church of Christ and later became a devoted member of Seminary Heights Church of Christ. She loved watching Westerns, soap operas, and spending time with family and friends.
Miriam leaves behind her beloved daughter Chante Henderson; grandchildren Kierra Mallard, Kamerin Thompson, and Jasha Young; seven great-grandchildren; sister Juanita (Dwayne) Williams; brothers Melvin (Kathy) Coleman, Kaylark (Ina) Henderson, and James (Audrey) Brown; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, friends, and faithful acquaintance Charles Thompkins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law.
