Susan Kay Horn Rhodes, lovingly known as Sue, passed away on December 21, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. Born February 7, 1950, in Jacksonville, Texas to General Lee and Lucille Horn. Sue was a vibrant and caring individual who dedicated her life to her family and community.
A proud graduate of Fred Douglas High School, Sue began her career as a licensed cosmetologist before returning to school to earn her Medication License. For many years, she served as a Medication Aide at Colonial Manor, where her compassionate nature and dedication to her patients left a lasting impact.
Sue cherished her time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. She had a special fondness for scratching lottery tickets, finding joy in the little things in life. Her warm spirit and kind heart were felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her four children: sons Earnest Dennis of Tyler, Texas, and Eddie Dennis of Jacksonville, Texas, and daughters Pamela Hall of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tracey Dennis of Flint, Texas. Sue also leaves behind her beloved siblings: sisters Jewel Jones of Jacksonville, Patsy Hinton of Tyler, and Caledonia Morgan of Dallas, Texas along with her brother Kenneth Stafford of Palestine, Texas. She was a proud grandmother to several grandchildren and is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Preceding her in death, are both parents, and sisters, Annie Lou Horn and Gladys Dennis.
Sue's legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate within the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
A memorial service and gathering of family and friends will be hosted by the family.
